Get to know your neighbors

Hi everyone.. first, I want to say how happy I am to have come across these blogs about Westford and that there are forums available for folks to ask questions. We are thinking about moving to Westford and I was hoping I could use this opportunity to ask a few questions. But first, a little about us - we are a family of 3 with a 1.5 yr old boy and plan to have another child in the near future to cap our family off at 4 :) We are moving from Waltham, where it's too darn noisy for us and we're looking for better schools and a house with a quiet yard. I think we'll find the right house as time goes by, but in the meantime, I thought I'd do a little research on the area. Here are some of my questions and please, feel free to tell me what you love about Westford and what you think could be improved - is that allowed on this blog? :)
- Are there good public play areas/playgrounds? I found Parker Village Playground - are there any others?
- Does the library have a children's play area?
- If you could move to any part of Westford, where would you move to? Keeping in mind that we are looking for a house less than 15 yrs old, 3-4 bedroom house with a yard :)
- Good restaurants in the area (or adjoining towns)? We tend to stay away from fancy restaurants.. we're just looking for good eats.
- How are the lakes in the area? Are they clean enough for swimming / canoeing / kayaking? We have been looking at some houses near Nabnasset Lake. Any idea if the private beach for Lakeside Meadows very crowded?
- Are there any local farm stands or farmers markets in the area?
I'm sorry for the long post - as you can see, I am really excited to find a place where I could ask my Westford questions :) Thanks in advance!

Looks like most of your questions were answered :) I have a bunch of brochures & maps in my real estate office if you'd like additional info, or just email me--

Graniteville ballpark, Roudenbush, Jack Walsh field on 225, the playground @ old Nab and all of the school playgrounds when school is not in session.

Yes

Nabnasset, but you won't find too much new construction here.

Lots in Nashua, Westford and surrounding towns. I'm not much help here because I have a pile of food allergies.

Nab has access to a small private beach called Sandy Beach, which we pay a nominal annual fee to use. Edwards Beach is going to have a really cool playground built starting this summer, too. I can't help you with info for Lakeside, we're too poor for those houses LOL.

Westford has a farmer's market on Town Common, Tuesdays all season long. There are a few others locally, too, and some great farm stands where you can get novel and regular items.
